Love, Sex, Monogamy, Marriage, Culture & The Economy!! Are they linked??

Couple of days back, I have gone through this article, about how the love sex and marriage is related with the overall socioeconomic development of the community???
Richard Wilkins is a professor of law at Brigham Young University. He writes in his book "Marriage on the brink" that viewed from any historical, anthropological or sociological perspective, marriage is not just an emotional and sexual attachment but it is much more than an intimate association between two people. It civilizes men. It protects children. It generates social energy. It fosters individual and collective growth. It teaches norms. It creates culture.

According to Giambattista Vico, marriage is the "seedbed" of society. In 1725, after completing an exhaustive study of ancient history, he concluded that marriage between a man and a woman is an essential characteristic of civilization. Without strong social norms that encourage a man to direct his sexual attentions to a single woman and thereafter care for his offspring, Vico concluded that chaos ensued. John Locke referred to marriage as mankind's 'first society'. The married family is profoundly important for a stable society.

British anthropologist J. D. Unwin reached the same conclusion. In his 1934 book, Sex and Culture, Unwin chronicled the historical decline of 86 different cultures. His exhaustive survey revealed that "strict marital monogamy" was central to social energy and growth. Indeed, no society flourished for more than three generations without it. Unwin stated it this way, "In human records there is no instance of a society retaining its energy after a complete new generation has inherited a tradition which does not insist on prenuptial and postnuptial continence."

Unwin confessed that he began his investigation "with carefree open-mindedness" and "in all innocence". With no axe to grind, and no idea where his researches might lead him, he wanted to test the conjecture that civilization and sexual self-control were related to each other. He studied eighty primitive and sixteen civilized societies, and found that a society's cultural energy (art, science, technology, etc.) increases as its sexual energy is controlled.

Professor V.A.Demant's writes in his book "An Exposition of Christian Sex Ethic" about the Unwin's research as follows:
"His [Unwin's] conclusion, reached after a review of many societies and civilizations, is that when social regulations forbid indiscriminate satisfaction of the sexual impulses, the emotional conflict is expressed in another way; and that what we call civilization has been built up by sacrifices in the gratification of innate desires. "A greater or lesser mental development has accompanied a limitation or extension of sexual opportunity." Unwin correlates three types of religion with three kinds of society described by their sexual regulations. "Societies that permitted pre-nuptial freedom were in the zoistic condition and produced little culture beyond tribal survival. Societies that imposed an irregular or occasional continence were in the manistic condition: these have a more elaborate social system. Societies that enforced complete pre-nuptial continence were in the deistic condition, and these have the maximum of intellectual and creative energy. He deduces that the greatest social energy and impulse for civilization-building is a correlate of the strictest of sexual patterns, namely that of absolute monogamy and extra-marital continence".

David Holloway writes in his article "when private become public" as follows:
"The basic claim that sexual restraint is correlated with cultural health stands and seems to be self-evidently true. A society where marriage norms have been destroyed and where pure sexual gratification is a primary value is not a society that can motivate communal effort. Nor will many of its members want to make sacrifices for such a society."

E. J. Mishan once wrote:
"Can anyone care very much what happens to a society whose members are continually and visibly obsessed with sexual carousal - to a society where, in effect, the human animal has been reduced to a life-style that consists in the main activity of alternatively inflaming itself and relieving itself?"

Tony Blair when interviewed soon after he became British Prime Minister, said:
"Of all the behaviour which in my personal experience has caused the greatest misery to other human beings, I would put adultery pretty high on the list. I don't actually think you can expect a man with the strains of public life to perform adequately unless he has got a good home life to go back to."

Rev. Louis p. Sheldon, Chairman, Traditional Values Coalition says "destruction of marriage precedes death of a culture, history shows".
In his 1979 book, "Our Dance Has Turned To Death," Christian sociologist Carl W. Wilson noted that history reveals that nations decline and eventually die when sexual immorality becomes rampant and the traditional family is discarded in favor of group sex, homosexuality, infidelity, and unrestrained sexual hedonism. Carl Wilson notes that decadent cultures display seven typical characteristics: Men reject spiritual and moral development as the leaders of families; men begin to neglect their families in search of material gain; men begin to engage in adulterous relationships or homosexual sex; women begin to devalue the role of motherhood and homemaker; husbands and wives begin to compete with each other and families disintegrate; selfish individualism fragments society into warring factions; and men and women lose faith in God and reject all authority over their lives. Soon, moral anarchy reigns. When the family collapses, the society soon follows.

Sociologist Pitirim Sorokin, in "The American Sex Revolution," found essentially the same thing when he examined sexual immorality as it relates to cultural decline. Sorokin noted in the late 60's that America was committing "voluntary suicide" through unrestrained sexual indulgence. He observed that as individuals began engaging in pre-marital sex unrelated to marriage, the birth rate would decline and our nation would be slowly depopulated. He predicted an increase in divorce, desertion, and an epidemic of sexual promiscuity resulting in a rise in illegitimate children. His predictions, unfortunately, have come true. Sorokin's study of decadent cultures convinced him that a healthy society can only survive if strong families exist and sexual activities are restricted to within marriage. Sexual promiscuity leads inevitably to cultural decline and eventual collapse.

Blood Group & Characters

Hey forum,

Can blood group decide a person's character??? I'm yet to know... Actually the recent articles that I have gone though says they can & will...

And it even helps you find the perfect match for your life :) I was amazed to find out the connections and anecdotes with my own life when I compare these science..  Lets face it, according to the latest researches conducted on people, the scientists in Japan & India concluded this as follows;

TYPE O You want to be a leader, and when you see something you want, you keep striving until you achieve it. You are a trend-setter, loyal, passionate, and self-confident. Your weaknesses include vanity and jealousy and a tendency to be too emotional. Your spouse may take advantage of you.

TYPE A You like harmony, peace and organization. You work well with others, and are sensitive, patient and affectionate. Among your weaknesses are stubbornness and an inability to relax. Very good with your spouse & family life.

TYPE B  You're a rugged individualist, who's straightforward and likes to do things your own way. Creative and flexible, you adapt easily to any situation. But your insistence on being independent can sometimes go too far and become a weakness inclusive of Selfishness to an extent. Might not be much interested in family life.

TYPE AB
Cool and controlled, you're generally well liked and always put people at ease. You're a natural entertainer who's tactful and fair. But you're standoffish, blunt, and have difficulty making decisions. Your spouse may be your best guide or a worst disaster.

MATCHING WITH YOUR PARTNER:

I don't claim this is the perfect way of matching oneself. But believe me guys, this math worked perfectly for me,
  • A is most compatible with A
  • B is most compatible with B
  • AB is most compatible with O and AB
  • O is most compatible with AB and O
I hope this might be useful for some of you at the least.. Thank you all for reading... :) Have a great time :)

Please leave your comments & thoughts. I appreciate it :)

QUIT SMOKING AND....

Within...

·  20 minutes

Your blood pressure, pulse rate, and the temperature of your hands and feet will all return to normal.

·  8 hours

Remaining nicotine in your bloodstream will have fallen to 6.25% of normal peak daily levels, a 93.25% reduction.

·  12 hours

Your blood oxygen level will have increased to normal and carbon monoxide levels will have dropped to normal.

·  24 hours

Anxieties peak and within two weeks should return to near pre-cessation levels.

·  48 hours

Damaged nerve endings have started to regrow and your sense of smell and taste are beginning to return to normal. Cessation anger and irritability peaks.

·  72 hours

Your entire body will test 100% nicotine-free and over 90% of all nicotine metabolites (the chemicals it breaks down into) will now have passed from your body via your urine.  Symptoms of chemical withdrawal have peaked in intensity, including restlessness. The number of cue induced crave episodes will peak for the "average" ex-user. Lung bronchial tubes leading to air sacs (alveoli) are beginning to relax in recovering smokers. Breathing is becoming easier and the lungs functional abilities are starting to increase.

·  5 - 8 days

The "average" ex-smoker will encounter an "average" of three cue induced crave episodes per day. Although we may not be "average" and although serious cessation time distortion can make minutes feel like hours, it is unlikely that any single episode will last longer than 3 minutes. Keep a clock handy and time them.

·  10 days

10 days - The "average ex-user is down to encountering less than two crave episodes per day, each less than 3 minutes.

·  10 days to 2 weeks

Recovery has likely progressed to the point where your addiction is no longer doing the talking. Blood circulation in our gums and teeth are now similar to that of a non-user.

·  2 to 4 weeks

Cessation related anger, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, impatience, insomnia, restlessness and depression have ended. If still experiencing any of these symptoms get seen and evaluated by your physician.

·  21 days

Brain acetylcholine receptor counts up-regulated in response to nicotine's presence have now down-regulated and receptor binding has returned to levels seen in the brains of non-smokers.

·  2 weeks to 3 months

Your heart attack risk has started to drop. Your lung function is beginning to improve.

·  3 weeks to 3 months

Your circulation has substantially improved. Walking has become easier. Your chronic cough, if any, has likely disappeared.

·  1 to 9 months

Any smoking related sinus congestion, fatigue or shortness of breath have decreased. Cilia have regrown in your lungs thereby increasing their ability to handle mucus, keep your lungs clean, and reduce infections. Your body's overall energy has increased.

·  1 year

Your excess risk of coronary heart disease has dropped to less than half that of a smoker.

·  5 to 15 years

Your risk of stroke has declined to that of a non-smoker.

·  10 years

Your risk of death from lung cancer has declined by almost half if you were an average smoker (one pack per day).  Your risk of cancer of the mouth, throat and esophagus has now decreased.

·  13 years

Your risk of smoking induced tooth loss has declined to that of a never-smoker.

·  15 years

Your risk of coronary heart disease is now that of a person who has never smoked.

MYSTERY OF LIFE - AIR INDIA EXPRESS FLIGHT CRASH

Hey Blog,

I really am sorry for all the friends and family members of those passed away in the tragedy today...(AIR INDIA EXPRESS to MANGALORE)  My dear friends I just want all of you to just think for a moment now.... about our life...!!! Especially people away from home....

Do you know what is the saddest part of the crash???
Since the flight is from Dubai TO Mangalore, most of the people who boarded the flight today would have been people who are working here in Dubai and are going for their vacation probably...  Even me every time I board a flight from Dubai to Chennai for any kind of thing, I used to pray  "Oh My dear GOD..!!! I don't know what you have planned for me up there... but if there's something wrong's gonna happen, then let it happen while I am coming back, Okayyyyyy!!!!"  You know why I do that.. because while I am going from here to hometown my whole soul is yearning to meet all my family & friends.,... And will think about the things that I will be doing there... Similary....

Just Imagine about...
  1. How many souls today who missed to see their loving wife home after two years/one year/.....???
  2. How many souls today who missed to see their LOVE waiting for them to have a great kiss???
  3. How many souls today who wanted to enjoy their holidays.. just passed in between???
  4. How many souls today who wanted to see their parents with lots of love???
  5. How many souls today who bought lots of new things for their loving children to see the happiness in their face???
  6. How many souls today who wanted to play with their grand parents in vacation???
  7. How many children today who are eagerly waiting to see their father after a long time???

(I teared while writing those 7 points.. because I exactly know the kind of excitements I have while I am on the plane to chennai for a vacation....)
I just cannot imagine the importance of our life every single moment....!!! Cherish it and Enjoy it...   If you are reading this then I really want you to just reflect these points above for about a minute in your mind and live your life to the fullest of your abilities... DO NOT SETTLE for anything less than you deserve.... YOU ARE AWESOME....!!! And HAVE A GREAT DAY YOU... MY FRIEND...!!!!

MAY GOD BLESS THOSE SOULS,.....!!!Leave your comments & Prayers....

    DUBAI IS RISING UP!!!

    Hey Forum,

Whats up?  As you know I live in Dubai... Recently with the people in Dubai, I have noticed an epidemic mentality disorder.. For any difficulty they have because of the recession... They just started blaming the country and the ruling... and above all my favourite leader Sheikh Mohammed... A man of principles & hard work...

I was really angry whenever some stupids call this country & the ruler greedy for money & fame.... You know they say "this is what will happen when you just go very fast...."  But I don't think so... May be you are just too retarded to notice someone's dream and vision you idiot...

Whenever some one is working ambitiously, these dumbos are waiting for him to have a slip in something to laugh, and pass some stupid quotes.. Freakin Losers..!!!! I really hate this kind of people...

I strongly believe this country & my favourite leader Sheikh Mohammed will definitely make this girl roar like a LION again.... And so, people even if you are not making any useful improvements, stop passing your freakin retarded comments like this and hence killing the enthusiasm in others as well...

I LOVE DUBAI...!!! And I believe in her ability & Sheikh mohammed's guidance will definitely bring her back up and running like ever before very soon... And for record, already the construction industry started making a progress of 15-25% more compared to the last one year.... This is the time we all have to stay together guys....

And I made this video about limiting beliefs over the entire history of human kind and how people have made it through... for you all.. Enjoy....!!!!

REMEMBER TO LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS & FOLLOW FOR UPDATES....!!!! :)

BILL GATES TO THE CHILDREN & SOME ADULTS

This should be posted at every school and on everyone's refrigerator if they have kids - can also apply to many adults!

    Love him or hate him
, he sure hits the nail on the head with this!
Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

    Rule 1
: Life is not fair - get used to it!

    Rule 2
: The world doesn't care about your self-esteem.
The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

    Rule 3
: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

    Rule 4
: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss

    Rule 5
: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

    Rule 6
: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault , so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

    Rule 7
: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

    Rule 8
: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

    Rule 9
: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get su mmers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time..

    Rule 10
: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

    Rule 11
: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one :)

Alexander the great - In his Death BED

The Great Greek King, Alexander the Great, after conquering many kingdoms, was returning home. On the way, he fell ill and he was bed ridden for months. With death drawing close, Alexander realized how his conquests, his army, his sharp sword and all his wealth were of no use in front of death.

He called his generals and said, " I will depart from this world soon. But I have three wishes. Please fulfill my wishes without fail." With tears flowing down their cheeks, the generals agreed to abide by their king's last wishes

"My first desire is that, " said the Alexander, " my physicians alone must carry my coffin. Secondly, when my coffin is being carried to the grave, the path leading to the graveyard should be strewn with gold, silver, and precious stones which I have collected in my treasury. My third and last wish is that both my hands should be kept dangling out of my coffin." The people who had gathered there wondered at the king's strange wishes. But no one dared to question. Alexander's favourite general kissed his hand and pressed them to his heart. "O King, we assure you that your wishes will all be fulfilled. But tell us why do you make such strange wishes??"

At this point Alexander took a deep breath and said, "I would like the world to know of the three lessons I have learnt. I want my physicians to carry my coffin because people should realize that no doctor can really cure anybody. They are powerless and cannot save a person from the clutches of death. So let not people take life for granted.
The second wish of the strewing of gold, silver and other riches on the way to the graveyard is to tell people that not even a fraction of gold can be taken by me. Let people realize that it is a sheer waste of time to chase wealth.

And about my third wish of having my hand dangling out of the coffin, I want people to know that I came empty handed in to this world and empty handed I go out of this world."

Alexander's Last WORDS: "Bury my body, do not build any monument, keep my hands outside so that the world knows the person who won the world had nothing in his hand when dying."

In the process you have to fight with no body but yourself... So why not to make it easy on yourself.. In this book I have shared a specific system that I have used for myself & for couple of my other friends...

    COLLEAGUE....

    Hey all,

I happen to come across this letter to the HR manager from an Employee recommending his fellow man to get promotion. Very tricky... Check it out...

    Dear Manager (HR),

Vivek, my assistant programmer, can always be found

hard at work in his cubicle. Vivek works independently, without

wasting company time talking to colleagues. Vivek never

thinks twice about assisting fellow employees, and he always

finishes given assignments on time. Often Vivek takes extended

measures to complete his work, sometimes skipping coffee

breaks. Vivek is a dedicated individual who has absolutely no

vanity in spite of his high accomplishments and profound

knowledge in his field. I firmly believe that Vivek can be

classed as a high-calibre employee, the type which cannot be

dispensed with. Consequently, I duly recommend that Vivek be

promoted to executive management, and a proposal will be

sent away as soon as possible.

    Signed -

    Project Leader

NB: That stupid idiot was reading over my shoulder when I wrote the report

sent to you earlier today. Kindly read only the odd lines (1, 3, 5, 7, 9,11, 13)

for my true assessment of him.

    DAY-1 Morning

It's Day-1 in the morning after I quit smoking.... I happen to go out for an appointment today; the whole morning was a blurring; I am using one of the famous techniquecalled, thought field therapy, which is nothing but tapping with our two fingers in specific acupuncture meridian points.... It's 30minutes to 2. I am still ONN.. and its the biggest fight that I am having with myself in my entire life.....!!! And I am loving it.... I will sure post the TFT in the next blog with more details and pictures.... See ya until then,...

    D-DAY, T-TIME for Quitting....!!!!

    Hey Blog,

This day today it is 11 past ten minutes, and I am so very determined to quit cigarette today... Today I heard a very sad news from one of my close friends about a person who died of a lung cancer... And I was so terrified and I have decided to not touch the cigarette again. And I believe I will not. He said that person he got a mild cancer in the lungs... and he went through the treatment called chemotherapy, which was nothing but killing the cancer cells along with the good cells of our own... And that is gotta be so painful... And after six months of chemotherapy he was forced to kill himself because of the pain. Just for a little pressure that which we avoid by taking a puff made this man to kill himself for the biggest pain of his life.

As I know I am writing this because I know I can't make anybody quit cigarette or any habit. But I can make it easy with the techniques available with the modern science called NLP. NLP stands for Neuro linguistic Programming, that is nothing but changing the programming that we run for smoking in our mind. Our brain is like a computer and like a computer it runs its own softwares for everything... for example when we learn to drive a car for the first time it was quite difficult but as time passes on we are so used to that (Pragrammmed well for driving) we almost have NO thinking required to drive. Similarly, for smoking we do have a program running in our brain.

If you check the reasons why we smoke it is the mild and sometimes heavy stress that we go through in our everyday lives. As I know once when we know to fight that stress it would be easy for us to be a non-smoker.

And for those who says that cigarette gives me relaxation note down this.... It is not the cigarette/smoking which gives us the relaxation instead it is the internal response of our body for nicotine(Basic substance the a smoker inhales while smoking) or tar. Because these contents are highly toxic that our body fights it and in the process of fighting everytime one smokes the body releases the happy chemical (Endorphins) in order to ease the pain.

So coming to the point it is YOU who have to decide that "I AM NEVER EVER EVER GONNA SMOKE AGAIN". Once when you have done that fix a date not later than a day or two. (Mostly it is better to decide the same day would do better) that you will never ever gonna smoke again from then on. It is definite that once when you have done that the techniques that I am going to share in this blog in the later days would definitely help you to ease the craving wonderfully.

The thing is DECIDE, YOU ARE NEVER EVER GONNA SMOKE AGAIN. And then go on to the next blog from then on....

And as of today, I have decided that I am never ever gonna smoke again... And I will post you my experiences and the rest of my journey from SMOKER TO MILLIONS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST USED-TO-BE SMOKERS....

See you all soon with next day experience tomorrow (25.04.2010).................

    I Love you MOM...!!!!

Today I was fortunate to see this message of a mom from one of my colleagues.
I thought I should share this with you all bloggers....

Have a good time guys... When I finished reading this blog I just called my mom and said "I love you mom...!!!" And she goes like "What....?? What happened darling..
